Repentance – The Church

To have a future, our church must repent of…

1.…dwelling in the past: Revelation 2:12-13

Self-focus, even in a church, is sinful: James 3:13-16

2.…reacting sinfully to leadership: Revelation 2:14a

Failure to seek God’s face: Psalms 14:2-3; Proverbs 1:25-31

Failure to pray for leaders: 1 Samuel 12:23; 1 Thessalonians 5:25

3.…causing others to stumble: Revelation 2:14b

Neglecting Fellowship with other believers: Hebrews 10:25

Failure to pray: 1 Samuel 12:23

Failure to confront sin: Matthew 18:15-20; Romans 16:17-18; Galatians 1:8-9; 1 Timothy 5:20

Neglecting the Great commission:  Ezekiel 3:17-19, Matthew 28:18-20

4.…letting others do the work: Revelation 2:15

Failure to serve
Do not withhold good that is in your power: Proverbs 3:27
Sin of wishing peace to the hungry: James 2:15-17
If you know what to do and don’t do it, it is sin: James 4:17

5.If we don’t repent, God will fight against us: Revelation 2:16

God’s judgment begins with His people: 1 Peter 4:17

If we do not bear good fruit, we will be cut off: Matthew 3:9-10

6.If we do repent, God will reward us: Revelation 2:17

Repentance brings refreshing: Acts 3:19

Repentance precedes revival: Psalm 51:7-13

Repentance brings strength: Luke 22:32
